Marushin nisai Doitsu Showa, 45cm female. A solid Hi plate covers the head and runs back over the shoulder, then the red breaks into smaller patches along both sides of the back. Sumi is light for a Showa at this stage, just a few small marks near the dorsal and along the back, so most of the contrast is red on white. The white between the plates is bright and the doitsu skin is clean. The pectorals are clean white. A bright, red-forward young Showa, and how much more sumi comes up is the thing to watch.
