Marushin nisai Doitsu Showa, 45cm female. A broad Hi plate sits over the head, followed by a row of separate red patches stepping down the back to a small mark near the tail. Sumi is minimal for now, only fine specks around the head and shoulder. The red is bright and even, and the white ground between the patches is clean. The pectorals are clear white and the doitsu skin is smooth. With so little sumi showing she reads close to a Kohaku pattern today, and since Showa sumi can arrive late, she is one to watch.
