Otsuka is one of the best koi breeders in Japan. His farm is located at the heart of Nishikigoi in Niigata, Japan. Otsuka Breeds fantastic Koi of all variety. However, he is especially great at Goshiki, Chagoi, and Asagi. All Japanese breeders are great at creating a certain Variety.
This Goshiki from Otsuka is pure and nearly perfect. Still a baby, the koi is 14 inches in size. Starting with the wrap pattern that the koi attains, it is a very desirable aspect. Wrap is important because as the koi grows in size the wrap will move upward. A shallow wrap will have a small pattern in the end of the koi.
The deep red Beni on the koi is one that is a rare find in Goshiki. This Goshiki also has the Asagi skin in black as the backround. That shows how strong the Beni red is on this koi to overlay the black and still be so vibrant.
The two step patterm is on that will be striking for years to come. A two step pattern is one that is highly desired.
The clean and clear look of this Goshiki raises its value and will stay that way as long as the koi is raised in clean and clear water, The fins on the Koi will turn white with age as the koi grow large and develops Furukin scale wrap.
The body on the koi is suitalbe for a young koi. The koi will fatten and develope a fine body. We know this because of the breeder and bloodlines.
