This is a male Kohaku from Niigata Japan. The Fine points of this koi is the great 2 step pattern and crimson red that the koi beholds.
The first Hi plate is outstanding. It starts at the mid point of the head and stops just beyond the shoulder area. It has a nice pattern to it that gives the koi charm and is unusual.
The KIWA is very crisp and defined on the front portion of the Hi plate. That is what we want when we see a good kiwa. The rear of the first HI plate is also like this.
The next hi plate finishes with a great ODOME at the end of the pattern. This is a very nice point on this koi. It is very even and solid. This HI plate is also very nice.
The MAKI (wrap of the red plates) is of great quality. When this koi begins to put more weight on it will have a distingushed and deep pattern down the side of the koi. This allows for a deep pattern instead of a shallow one.
This koi is 3 years old and is developing very good. It will suit a owner with a mid sized pond very nicely.
We highly reccomend this koi to anyone with a 5,000 gallon pond or smaller. He will be an outstanding addition to your pond.
